Aeros pre-game v. Manitoba
The Aeros will be done with the Manitoba Moose for the season by around 1:30 this Thursday after playing them tonight and for the screechy, paste-eater infested matinee Thursday. They dropped the first two games to the Moose during that tough road trip in late October, the first of which had a few fights, so there's clearly no love lost between these teams.
The Moose, Vancouver's AHL affiliate, are a good, tough, defensive team, but their Achilles heel at the moment is goaltending. First, Luongo went down with an injury, which resulted in Sanford starting and Schnieder getting the call to back him up. And then last night, Sanford went down with back spasms, so if that doesn't clear up, another goalie will need to be called up from somewhere in the system to fill in for their game on Thursday. Which means there's not much left in the cupboard to mind the net in the AHL.
And I'd wager the Aeros are just fine with that.
