Day 2

Well, really nothing on the Wild front today in terms of free agent signings, other than big offers and misses. But I'd prefer that to overpaying so we'll see what else they get done.

The big news for me was that my favorite love him/hate him player, Sean Avery, was signed to Dallas, which is absolutely a perfect fit. I was already excited by my newfound affection for the Stars but now I'm over the moon. Boy are they gonna be fun to watch! Loads of personality on that team from stem to stern.

Even more exciting is if Clutterbuck comes up and goes toe to toe with Avery. *gasp* I can't even breathe thinking about it. The two best agitators I've ever seen on the same sheet. Sweet Jeezus. I may spontaneously combust. The ice may melt. It might be the Apocalypse (and THEN won't those hockey haters feel silly for not seeing it coming!)

Meanwhile, in all the excitement, I didn't workout Monday or Tuesday. *hangs head in shame* BUT, I went to spinning tonight and busted my butt to make up for it. If legs could throw up, mine would have. They feel like lead now. Time for a shower and bed, yo.

I'm taking tomorrow off and going skating at Willowbrook at lunchtime. Yay!

I don't know whether I'm happy or sad about Avery. I worry for Otter, but he's here for 2 more years. But the Stars, kinda dont' need them both. I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

For shame, no workouts. I got a spider bite, and couldn't workout for 10 days, felt horrible. Made me nuts how mutch conditioning I lost. I'm on a body reform project, as I used to weigh 360lbs. Now I'm rid of most of that, but I still weigh a freaky amount. My brothers (who are amature bodybuilders) are my trainers. So I think I train more like a guy. Which might not be so good.

Congratulations on the big lossage! I know from personal experience that's a lot of hard work. I'd love to have built-in trainers at home, guy-style or otherwise. I need a butt kicker!

Must have been a hell of a spider bite. Yikes! Glad you're feeling better.

I thought about Ott, too, in the Avery deal and wondered how that's going to play out. The Dallas fans I've seen seem pretty upset about the deal. I get the hate, but I can't seem to muster it myself. Must come from my evil streak. :)

Carcillo has already called out Avery. He's gonna be running from Doan, McGrattan and Carcillo (if he isn't a scratch when the coyotes play the stars!)

I haven't worked out in like a week and half. I planned on it but I got assualted last Friday and my neck was in pain. I plan on going tomorrow morning though. I feel so chubby lately!

Do you know why the fans are upset? I'm not sure why the Stars thought they needed Avery? I was thinking some more D. myself. But what do I know?

The bite didn't look all that bad, but I could feel the "poison" move through my muscils. It was kinda scary, but over now. Insect bites/stings are really bad for me.

It is nice to have built in trainers. But like I said I think they train me like a guy. I'm already 5' 10'+ and really big. Just going by the weight, I'm still really overweight. But since I don't look like it anymore. I guess I'll just be thankful.

Oh, and I can't see that you have any evil at all... (smiles)

Assaulted! Good gracious! I'd say you deserve a break.

I'll definitely be tuning in for Dallas v. Phoenix. :) Between Dallas' agitation prowess and Phoenix's toughness. Jesus. If that doesn't break some PIM records, I'll be shocked.

Ms. Conduct  July 3, 2008 at 9:19 PM

Yeah, the back of my jersey doesn't say "MS CONDUCT" because I'm a Pavel Datsyuk fan. :)

Very scary on that bite. Yeesh.

My best friend is 5'10" as well and she always looks far lighter than she is. Being tall is good. And if you ever get where you can learn to play hockey, you'll be a great defenseman! :)

As far as why Dallas fans are mad, it's because they find him a disgrace to hockey. No boundaries, no class, no honor, etc etc. Of course, that's exactly why I like him. But then I also love players who honor the code, like your traditional enforcers like Boogaard and Laraque. I think the tension between the two types of players is incredibly entertaining.

Life_As_A_Redhead  July 3, 2008 at 9:24 PM

Totally agreed. Toughness with Class. That's Hockey. That's why I watch Hockey.

I like being tall, except for one thing. The men here (mostly of german decent) are almost all 3 or 4 inches shorter. Blind dates, are embarrasingly comical. So guys get extra hotness points for being 6' or taller.

Ms. Conduct  July 3, 2008 at 9:38 PM

Hell, I'm only 5'7" and 6' is a baseline requirement (married 6'3" and my favorite Aeros player was nearly 6'9"... freaking condominium, that guy... yum.)

hipcheck  July 3, 2008 at 10:51 PM

Yah, Carcillo can agitate pretty well too. McGrattan said something like Carcillo can start it and I will finish it. hah And PIMs? No problem, we got the guy that lead the NHL last season!

Wow, I'm only like 5'5.5 and I like guys that are least 6'! Must just be a girl thing to like the tall guys. Although I love Carcillo, but we acts bigger than he is!

BGL went to Montreal. I doubt he will fight for them. He didn't for Phoenix and didn't for the Pens.
