Bruins fans have started a get out the write-in vote campaign for Tim Thomas to get into the All-Star game. And given how ridiculous some of the nominees are, I approve this message wholeheartedly.
Though I have to laugh at this picture I found when I looking for an image of TIMMAAAAAAAAAY to use. Montreal fans are brutal... poor TIMMAAAAAAAAAY. But isn't he cute in his half-goalie gear? Heh.
I lost a week in there somewhere but it suffices to say that I still suck and thank you Marty Suckin' Turco for that. Oh yeah, and the rest of you goalies except Millsy.
Actually, I'm #4 in the Wildbloggers league, which is pretty good. Though I think I was up against someone this week who has abandoned his team.
I'm in the basement in the Russoville league, even though I won my match-up this week. But our Commish does a great write-up each week, and being in the bottom assures me of getting a mention. And really, negative attention is still attention. Thanks Kev. I'm sure someone, somewhere is sanding down that wooden spoon for me...
And finally, in my Wild Message Board league, I'm about where a D would be on the grading scale (not a defenseman, but the letter grade). Not falling off the bottom but certainly at the bottom of the middle of the pack. I lost by one point last week and I'm already losing every category this week. Yay. Go team.
Amazingly, in my Russoville Fantasy Football league, one team has yet to lose a week. I'm pretty sure Lemmi sold his soul to the Miro Satan or something...
In addition to Adams being assigned to Corpus, Valette being signed to a PTO, Kolanos going up, and Scott returning, Dane Crowley has been assigned to the Phoenix Roadrunners.
Apart from some youthful mistakes and a penchant for penalties, I kinda liked the kid. Scrappy, good looking, offensive-minded defenseman... what's not to like? But at his age, he needs to not just be sitting every game, so it's good they've sent him along where he can play. I hope he gets another shot because I never got a chance to use this video:
So, my hockey coach (the real one, not Coach Stalin) gave me the green light on trying out goal. He's gonna round up gear for me. Meanwhile, I'll be behind the barn throwing up for the rest of the week. Seriously. OMG.

I signed up for Facebook. There are some friends I don't hear from as much as I'd like and it appears, with all our busy lives, that this is the only way to keep tabs on them. It makes me feel old. I like bloggerdom so much better. All this writing on my wall and friending and stuff, but no room for substance as far as I can tell. But I need some hockey friends over there, so if you know my name, go hold my hand while I adjust to life outside of WMB, Russoville, and bloggerdom. It's cold and loud and scary.

I have a jammed toe. Kicked a chair yesterday when I was trying to sit down. And yeah, I really do want to be a goalie, which requires significant bodily coordination. So, I think we all know how that's gonna go for a while.
So, Kolanos got a goal on his first shift with the Wild against the Sharks. And it came from Pouliot.
Sometimes life just likes to mess with you.
Also, the Aeros have sent John Adams down to the ECHL and, thanks to my alerting them that they a little short on forwards, have signed center Craig Valette from the Stockton Thunder to a PTO.
He's spent the last two seasons in the AHL with the Worcester Sharks and isn't a big goal scorer but consistently has PIM in the 90s, and I think a little toughness up front isn't a bad move. You're obviously not going to replace Kolanos' scoring, so you might as well get someone in who doesn't mind shoving guys around a bit.
Oh, another comment from the Wild/Sharks game... Cal got "jumped" for the first time as an NHLer! Not that I'm excited about it. I was shrieking, "GET OFF MY CAL! GET THE F**K OFF MY CAL!" Yeah, I'm cool like Fonzie. Now if they just could have gotten a goal from the penalty he drew...
Great article on how the Texas Tech hockey team had to fight for a place to play, and the struggles they're facing to keep the team. The comments are good, too. Who the hell knew D/FW area had 30 rinks?! We have, what, 6 in Houston? Suck.

Read more...WILD REASSIGNS DEFENSEMAN JOHN SCOTT TO HOUSTON HOUSTON, Texas – Houston Aeros General Manager Tom Lynn announced today the American Hockey League (AHL) club has been reassigned defenseman John Scott from the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Scott, 26 (9/26/82), was placed on injured reserve after suffering an injury October 3 in a pre-season game at Columbus. The 6-foot-7, 255 pound native of St. Catharines, Ontario notched three points, all goals, with the Aeros last season, and has nine points (4-5=9) in 129 games over two seasons with the club.
Scott was originally signed as a free agent by Minnesota on December 31, 2006.
