And in street ball, dropping into the fly won't do any good. Once you're down, what're ya gonna do? You're not going to slide a leg out to either side; that's for sure.

It's all Hextall stand-up and hack the screen. :DMasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06539481507138014677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8705820500334920463.post-36801089295726759762009-08-11T11:48:37.621-05:002009-08-11T11:48:37.621-05:00Man, rant away. A majority of goalie maneuvers call for mercurial frictionlessness but what I get is like rubbing sandpaper and velcro together.

The same goes for lateral movement across the crease. Yeah, I know that guy's standing on the backdoor, waiting for the pass across the crease, and I see it happen every time, but there's not a graceful move to be made that will save that shot. The best thing I can do is to hold the post and fall in towards the goal, hoping to get a chicken wing or my mask on the shot. :\

(Sorry for the rant.)

I also really like the idea to list 100 reasons to love the position. Other than my frightening insanity about being screened.

The only thing I do so far is that I have to put my stick down on one of the little bistro tables that's by the glass on the way back to the room after the game. I don't know why. I just did it after one game when I was tired and didn't feel like carrying my stick anymore. And now it's like my, "Okay, you're done, let it go" cue.

Still working on a pre-game routine, but don't want to get too rigid about it because the amt of time we have to warm up is never consistent. Kind of developing a tiered approach that if I have to cut it short, I'm only losing the less important parts of the routine.Ms. Conducthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06998363658537935772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8705820500334920463.post-30788025474408030702009-08-10T11:15:41.279-05:002009-08-10T11:15:41.279-05:00Goalies tend to be nutjobs, and you fit all the re...Goalies tend to be nutjobs, and you fit all the requirements of that.

And that's a compliment.KiPA - Kevin in PAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08770961620528896510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8705820500334920463.post-88128909914100318582009-08-10T09:05:44.150-05:002009-08-10T09:05:44.150-05:00Thanks for the suerte! I need all I can get.

I was just thinking the other day about what inspired me to be a goalie and certainly the Schaef/Brusty tandem two seasons ago was a factor. They were so good, so confident, made it look so easy. (False advertising... jesus, it's so not easy.)

But beyond that, all I can say is that the position speaks to me. Hell, it screams to me. I dunno. It's just perfect. The best position in all of sports. I could list 100 reasons why I love it.
